Half-Term Reflection

1)  Have you learned anything new since beginning the year?  If so, what concepts have been new?  If not, have you improved in your understanding of these concepts?

2)  Does the instructor use a wide range of activities to both investigate topics and demonstrate knowledge?  What have been your favourite and least favourite activities?

3)  Do you feel challenged in this course?  If so, how are you being challenged?  If not, why do you think that is?  What improvements could be made in class to better challenge you or aid your understanding?

  1. I have learnt a lot in this class. I have learned about pythagorus and factorising. You have a vary of different fun games and activities that are fun and make the class fun. Most of the time I feel challenged in this class. I feel challenged by sometimes I don't understand some of the things that you are teaching. I think that you could do more one on one help and in activities change the partners up.

  2. Yes, I learnt about the Pythagoras theorem. Yes, I like it when we played snakes and ladders in the Algebra unit. I like the wild rang of activities and it helps when we repeat it to get it into are head. I feel challenged by the course, because it is hard. I don't think that we need to help by aiding my understanding.

  3. 1. I have learned many things since the start of the year. Like pythagorean theorem.

    2. Yes because we do things like group work, quizzes and sometimes games. My favorites were the games and least favorites were the quizzes.

    3. Yes because we are working at our own pace but at a challenge too. I think the class is fine the way it is.

  4. 1. I have learned many things since the start of the year. Before, I didn't know what the Pythagorus theory was or what it meant. I also didn't know how to factorise or write word problems.

    2. We have done a lot of different fun activities. My favourite being the snakes and ladder game because it was a fun way to practise something that was dull and boring.

    3. I feel challenged because I am constantly learning new ideas and methods of solving equations. I don't thing that anything needs to be changed about the learning in this class.

  5. During this part of the year, I learnt a lot about the Pythagoras theorem, as I didn't know anything before that unit :). During the algebra unit, I felt like it was more a refresher than learning stuff that were completely new, because I forgot most of the things :(

Yes - I think that a lot of the activities we did helped me understand the subject better.

I think that the course is at just the right level - I feel like I'm not too challenged but I'm not getting bored either. I feel like there is no improvements to be made.
